Act 8

Shuichi: Oh, he is in his room.

Yuri: Is something wrong?

Shuichi: I... He won’t let me make love to him and when I try to he freaks out.

Yuri: That is what he said on the phone.

(Yuri walked into the house and took off his shoes. Shuichi shut the door behind him.)

Yuri: Which room is his?

(Shuichi led him to Eiri’s room. Yuri knocked on the door.)

Eiri: Go away.

Yuri: Eiri it is Yuri can I come in?

Eiri: Yeah.

Yuri: (Turning toward Shuichi) Let me talk to him, then I want to talk to you.

Shuichi: OK.

(Yuri opened the door and walked into the room and shut the door. The room was dark except for one little light that was on in the corner of the room. Eiri was lying on his stomach on the bed. He was only wearing a pair of black slacks. Yuri walked over to the bed and sat down next to him.)

Yuri: Eiri what is wrong?

Eiri: I keep seeing him and remembering what he did to me.

Yuri: It is ok. You are still trying to deal with everything. I think that maybe Shuichi needs to back off for a while. I know that this is a little personal but at what point do you freak out?

Eiri: (Looking at him) When he starts touching and kissing me. When his hands go below my waist.

Yuri: OK. I am going to go talk to Shuichi. I think that he is going to have to back off some with you.

Eiri: OK.

(Yuri left the room. He walked out into the living room. Shuichi was sitting on the couch staring at a blank TV screen.)

Shuichi: (Looking at Yuri) How is he?

Yuri: He will be fine, but you and I need to talk.

Shuichi: About what?

Yuri: About how quickly you are trying to get into Eiri’s pants.

Shuichi: Huh?

Yuri: You need to slow down with Eiri. Every time you are touching him he starts to panic, because he is remembering what Yuki did to him. You are going to have patience with him.

Shuichi: I would never hurt him.

Yuri: I know that and deep down inside he knows that, but the memories just take over and he freaks out.

Shuichi: How do I slow down then?

Yuri: Take things one-step at a time. If you are rubbing his chest and he tenses up continue doing that until he relaxes and realizes that you are not going to hurt him. It may take awhile to get anywhere with him but at least that way he will be calmer.

Shuichi: OK.

(Just then the doorbell rang.)

Shuichi: (Answering the door) Hello.

Mika: Hi, is Touma here?

Shuichi: No.

Mika: You are lying to me.

Eiri: (Walking up behind Shuichi) He is not lying. Touma is not here.

Mika: OK.

(She turned and left. Shuichi and Eiri walked into the living room. Yuri was sitting on the couch.)

Yuri: Why does she want to see him?

Eiri: Who knows. Probably has something to do with the fact that Touma wants a divorce.

Yuri: Touma said that on the phone. Do you know Touma’s office number?

Eiri: Yeah, Shuichi probably has to go there anyway.

Shuichi: Yeah I do.

Eiri: (Smiling) You want to see Touma?

Yuri: That was my original reason for coming to Japan.

Eiri: Let me call Touma and make sure that Mika isn’t there.

(At Touma’s office

Touma was sitting at his desk, trying to keep calm. Mika had barged in to the office. It was obvious that she was very upset.)

Mika: So you are really going to go through with the divorce.

Touma: Yes.

Mika: Why are you doing this to me?

Touma: Because I am not in love with you. I just can’t be with some one that I love.

Mika: (Seeing the picture of Yuri that Touma had forgotten to take off his desk and pointing to it) You love him don’t you?

Touma: (Sighing, it was no use lying to her) Yes I do.

(Mika didn’t say anything; she turned and stormed out of the room. Slamming the door behind her. Touma sat back in his chair and closed his eyes. He wanted to see Yuri so badly and he prayed that he would see him soon. Just then the phone rang.)

Touma: (Answering it) Hello.

Eiri: Hey, Mika is looking for you.

Touma: I know she just left here.

Eiri: How long are you going to be there?

Touma: Probably all day why?

Eiri: Just wondering. I may come by later.

Touma: OK.

(Eiri hung up the phone and turned toward Yuri.)

Eiri: Touma said that Mika just left there and that he will be there all day.

Yuri: OK. (Putting on his shoes) Shuichi are you ready to go?

Shuichi: Yeah.

Yuri: (Turning toward Eiri) Are you going to be OK?

Eiri: Yeah I am going to go lie down.

Yuri: OK. I will call to check up on you later.

(Yuri and Shuichi left. They took the car that Yuri rented to drive to the Production Company. Yuri parked his car in front of the building and they walked inside.)

Yuri: What floor is Touma’s office on?

Shuichi: It is on the top floor.

Yuri: OK thanks.

(Yuri walked over to the elevator. He pushed the elevator button and waited for the elevator. Eventually the elevator doors opened, he went inside, and pushed the button for the top floor. When the elevator got up to the top floor he got off. It was easy to find Touma’s office. Yuri knocked on the door.)

Touma: Come in.
