Chapter 8

Haruka Tennou stood quietly in the doorway watching her lover sleep. Even in her slumber, Michiru maintained a sense of dignity and quiet elegance. Her hair, although a bit disheveled, was green and lusterous, her soft, white skin was flawless as it rose and fell with each sweet breath she drew. Unable to keep herself away, Haruka approached her sleeping companion’s side. She knelt down at the edge of the bed and kissed Michiru’s soft, yielding lips.

The Sailor Senshi of the Deep felt the familiar sensation of her partner’s kiss as she slowly roused from her sleep. Her lips parted to allow Haruka’s tongue entry into her mouth, on cue, the pair intertwined. Keeping her eyes closed, enjoying the feeling of Haruka’s passion, she moaned softly and searched for her lover’s hand. Finding it she squeezed tenderly.

After a lingering kiss, the blonde woman pulled away for a breath. For a moment they just stared into each other’s eyes, not a word was spoken. None were needed; a simple good morning kiss would not be enough for either of them. Haruka straddled her partner and went right for her neck. She sucked on Michiru’s collar bone and traced it with her tongue, working her way up the aquamarine haired girl’s neck. She inhaled the arousing scent of the compliant woman’s tresses and, as always, felt her desire build. The blonde had never had much interest in love or sex, feeling that one was a fairytale and the other a waste of time. However, those feelings had changed the moment she had met the woman lying before her. True, they had been joined together for a purpose far greater then either of their emotions, but in spite of the seemingly impossible goal of saving the world from The Silence, they had been able to develop and explore their love for each other fully.

Eventually, unbelievably, they had, with the help of the unlikely Messiah, prevented the destruction of the Earth and for many months now life had been quiet and peaceful. Mugen Gauken had been destroyed in the fray but, after transferring to a new school, the exemplary students had graduated early. The last three months the pair had spent traveling, pursuing their separate dreams, together. Haruka’s love of motorcross drew her across the world; she had competed in Japan before moving on to the United States and recently they had been here in Europe. Michiru’s growing fame in the fields of music and art had made it easy to travel with her lover, performing in the state of the art concert halls of New York, Chicago and Los Angeles as well as the historic opera houses of Italy, France and England. Her paintings had been displayed in equally impressive venues and her skill had made her quite a name in many circles. But their roles as Sailor Senshi had been mercifully neglected and the two young women were at last able to enjoy the life they had found together.

In public the two were quite discreet, few had any idea that they were any more then close friends. But behind closed doors, their thirst for each other could not be quenched. In a frenzy Haruka tore off her lover’s sheer nightgown and suckled hungrily on Michiru’s soft breasts. Her tongue flicked over the other girl’s pink nipples and brought them both to their full stature. The delighted sigh that escaped Michiru’s lips drove Haruka ever deeper into the throws of passion. Pausing for only a moment, the blonde removed her muscle shirt quickly, and threw herself back on top of her prone lover. Once again, their lips met and they kissed deeply.

The passive girl moaned loudly, frantically sucking in air, under the heavenly weight of her partner. So intense was their lust that they often neglected to pause for a breath. Returning her lips to where they belonged, Michiru’s tongue delighted in the feeling of her mate’s sliding over hers. The women’s breasts, crushed between their bodies, slid across each other, lubricated by Haruka’s saliva, sending shivers of pleasure throughout their bodies. Michiru loved her partner’s tits; they were small, and firm, like the rest of her partner’s well toned body. Hidden from the world most days, they were like a secret that only she was allowed to enjoy.

The blonde broke their kiss after a blissful eternity of tonguing and moved back down Michiru’s body. The girl closed her eyes and held her breath in anticipation as Haruka inched farther and farther down. No matter how many times they made love the young artist was amazed by her mate’s skill; she never went unsatisfied. As Haruka’s lips met the aqua marine haired girl’s femininity she moaned softly, her regal poise barely breaking despite the ecstasy that radiated throughout her body. She brought her legs up around the blonde’s head creating a heavenly valley with her thighs, cradling Haruka affectionately.
As the boyish sailor senshi deftly performed on her lover she drank in her rich scent, it was heady and complex like aged Bordeaux and equally intoxicating. She tasted as exquisite as she smelled and Haruka was always ready to partake in her partner’s delights. Her tongue flicked rapidly over Michiru’s swollen clitoris and her hands massaged her smooth legs.
It never took long; the champion of Neptune was as equally sensitive physically as she was artistically. Minutes later Haruka had brought her fated lover to a melodious crescendo of dulcet moans and rhythmic contortions, pausing only briefly before beginning the next movement of their sensuous symphony.

Lying blissfully in her lover’s arms, Michiru wished she could stay this way all day. Unfortunately, there was something that needed to be said. She had been feeling a dreadful premonition for days now and it could only be one thing; the Princess was in danger. She had tried to ignore it at first, it wasn’t nearly as intense as she had felt when The Silence was approaching and she hoped that the other Sailor Senshi would be able to handle it. They were fairly skilled and it was true that they had ultimately triumphed in the previous battle, but Michiru’s anxiety was building more and more each day.

“Haruka.” She said softly, unhappily breaking the quiet of the room. Her lover only nuzzled on her neck in response. “The seas are restless.”

The blonde stopped at the sound of those words. The winds had been eerily chaotic for some time now and although she knew her lover was equally tuned into the portents of nature, she had prayed that she hadn’t felt anything. It seemed she had. After a long pause Haruka responded, “I know.”

Squeezing her naked partner, Haruka clung a moment longer to the happy, peaceful existence they had enjoyed. It appeared that, once again, they would be called into service for the defense of Earth.

Turning a corner, Mamoru Chiba ran down the dark alley he had seen the creature disappear into. Although it remained in human form and hadn’t yet caused a commotion, the young man wasn’t about to let it out of his sights. In two weeks, two of his friends had gone missing. Ever since the latest disappearance the number of youma being spotted had reached record levels. Now in the narrow street between two large buildings he found himself alone, but he could still sense the presence of the monster lurking somewhere close by. Not sparing a moment, he thrust his hand into his jacket pocket and withdrew a single rose. This simple act engulfed him in a flash of brilliance and a moment later his street clothes were replaced by the finest tuxedo Earth’s tailors had been able to craft.

He felt a bit safer behind his mask, but it didn’t seem to matter. Rei and Minako’s disappearances were too quick and clean to have been accidents. If the Dark Kingdom were indeed back, it seemed that their secret identities were no longer so qualified. Glancing to each side and quickly examining every conceivable hiding place, he could not locate the beast.

“Damn!” he thought to himself. Ideally, the dark haired young man wanted to capture the monster. Luna, Artemis and, initially, Ami had hidden themselves in the Hikawa Shrine, pouring over every bit of data, no matter how minute or seemingly insignificant it might seem, desperately searching for clues about their missing companions. Now with Venus gone and a sudden increase in the number of youma, Ami had been forced to leave the analysis to the two cats. Though they had faced danger countless times, they had always been a team. Each member contributed their own strengths and compensated for the other’s weaknesses. Sans two members, it was as though their legs had been cut out from underneath them.

Strange as it seemed, the sudden arrival of dozens of youma had accomplished something positive. Usagi, inconsolable after Rei’s abduction, was brought out of her despair and filled with a warrior’s resolve by Minako’s absence. Thinking of his millennial lover, Mamoru felt a twinge of sympathetic pain. Though the two missing girls were his friends as well, his feelings of loss were a drop in the ocean of misery that he knew Usagi was drowning in. She was fiercely loyal to her friends and deeply empathetic, and though she now appeared strong and collected, Mamoru was only too aware of her depression. It never ceased to amaze him that she could be so childish and innocent but when confronted with a serious threat, she rose to the challenge and looked more and more like the queen he knew she would one day become every time. He loved both aspects of her equally.

Unable to locate the youma, Tuxedo Mask took a few careful steps. These creatures came in all shapes and sizes, with any number of methods of attack. He had to be ready for anything. Suddenly the caped man felt a twinge at the back of his neck and instinctively whirled around in a flutter and came cane to blade with the beast he had been stalking. It had tried to go for a quick back stab, but Tuxedo Mask was more then practiced in the art of close quarter combat.

The creature before him had at least a meter on him, even with his stove pipe hat. It was bestial, like a wolf with dark, chocolate fur. The sword he had parried was large and wicked, its guard as sharp and pointed as the creature’s gaping maw. Tuxedo Mask dropped back and swung his cane around, attempting to catch the creature on his shoulder. He needed to take care of this fast; this animal would have him beat if it became a contest of strength.

It blocked his strike deftly and howled fiercely. Spinning on his leather soles, the masked man leapt to his side and retreated, but the beast did not let him run away peacefully. It tore after him in a frenzied attempt to overtake its adversary; exactly as Tuxedo Mask had planned. These creatures never displayed any high level of intelligence or an understanding of tactics, they charged single mindedly towards their goal. First and foremost, the future king of Crystal Tokyo needed to draw the youma away from the busy streets but he also used this opportunity to grab a handful of roses from within his jacket.

Turning suddenly back toward the animal he swung his arm up and over in a wide arc, bringing the cane down toward the creature’s head. It blocked the attack effortlessly but was not able to do anything about the half dozen roses that were thrust into its face. The magically imbued flowers drove deep into the thick hide of the wolfish beast and it howled in fury. The dark haired man drove his weight into the creature’s form and toppled it to the ground in a heap. The beast’s sword clattered to the asphalt noisily but far out of reach.

Its clawed limbs flailed dangerously in all directions as it tore the roses from its skin and searched madly for its weapon. Tuxedo Mask jumped onto the felled beast and drove the end of his cane into the youma’s chest, its ribs audibly shattering under his weight. The thrashing intensified as the creature tried to save itself, yelping in terror now.

“Where have you taken Sailor Mars and Sailor Venus?” Mamoru demanded. The creature was done for and they never lasted very long after being beaten. No intelligible response came from the animal, it just howled louder.

“Tell me and I’ll let you live!” It was a lie of course, how could a youma be allowed to safely exist on Earth? Still nothing but frightened whining.

“Fuck!” The well dressed man cursed loudly. It was always the same, they seemed to be able to speak just fine in human form but once they shed their disguises they never offered much more then their name. The remaining Sailor Senshi had tried to capture a few while still in human guise, but at the first sign of a fight they always transformed.

It seemed that the beast was finally done for. The strength left its body and the twitching stopped. Tuxedo Mask stood up and crushed its skull with another vigorous downward thrust of his staff. No sense in taking chances. It wouldn’t be long before the body disappeared. He wasn’t sure of course, but the standing man suspected that these were beings of pure energy. They never left any physical remains and it would offer some clue as to why the Dark Kingdom was so intent on collecting it. Ami was of the same opinion but she rarely got any chance to analyze them thoroughly, especially these days. Before they had fought as a team, now the remaining warriors had been forced to fight independently.

The man willed away his transformation and a moment later he was indistinguishable from the throngs of bodies that crowded the streets of Tokyo. A second later the beast followed his disguise’s lead and disintegrated into the ether. Mamoru sighed in frustration, he had prevented a scene but he was no closer to rescuing his friends. Leaning against a building, Mamoru pulled out a cell phone and punched in a few keys, dialing Ami.

“Hello?”

“Ami-chan, it’s me.”

“Any luck?”

“No. Same as always; it just disappeared.” The aggravation in his voice was palpable. He could hear Ami groan on the other end, sharing his disappointment.

“Usagi-chan just reported in a few minutes ago, she wasn’t any more fortunate.”

Mamoru was silent for a moment, how much longer could this go on? They were fighting a losing battle as it was. At some point one of them was going to slip up, a youma was going to cause a rampage, and the Dark Kingdom would be nearer to its inscrutable goals. More disturbingly, they had successfully abducted two Sailor Senshi; undoubtedly they would make another attempt at it. He would be damned if he let them have his love and the capture of Mercury or Jupiter was no more palatable. He was proud of his future daughter’s spirit. She wanted to fight too but Chibi-usa simply didn’t have the strength to defeat youma on her own. She had fought alongside the Sailor Senshi in the past but without the whole team to watch out for her, Mamoru wasn’t about to let the little girl be on the frontlines. Besides, the Luna-P was the only thing keeping the girl’s families from finding out about their missing daughters.

Rei’s grandfather and Yuichiro were still on their pilgrimage, thankfully. But the rest of them had decided to live together in Mamoru’s apartment for safety. The two cats seemed fine on their own at the arcade. There had never been any attacks on the felines and, although it wasn’t a certainty that the Dark Kingdom knew the housing situations of the two captured Senshi, Ami suggested that they not stay at the shrine for too long as the possibility remained that it had been compromised. As yet there had been no indication that the enemy knew Mamoru’s identity or the location of his flat, so it seemed the logical choice. Zoicite had discovered his human form but had died shortly after, so hopefully he had not passed the information on. Under other circumstances, having three beautiful women staying at his house would have been a dream come true. Sadly, there was little time to enjoy his situation. Out of options, the young man turned back onto the busy street and made his way towards home.

Ami Mizuno leaned back in her chair going over the current state of affairs for the thousandth time that day. Two of her friends were missing and in all likelihood being held in the Dark Kingdom. It was possible that both were dead, they had not seen or heard from either of them since their disappearance, though there had been no indication of that and she preferred to stay positive. Usagi would not even hear of that possibility, she claimed she could still feel that they were alive. Ami wasn’t very good at following her heart over her head, but in this case she was willing to make herself believe in her dumpling headed friend’s assertions.

Unfortunately, Mars and Venus’s absence had left Ami stretched thin. The increase in youma had required her martial skills at a time when her mental skills were in far greater demand. At least now that school was out she was at least able to devote more of her time to the question of how they could rescue them from the Dark Kingdom. Sadly, the girl had no fundamental understanding of exactly what the Dark Kingdom was. She had spent days analyzing the data she had been able to collect, but it was painfully incomplete.

She had never actually been to the Dark Kingdom, so first hand observations were impossible, but from what she had gathered from Usagi, it was a place very similar to Earth. Mamoru’s memories of his time there had been muddled by Usagi’s cleansing so he had been no help either. The only difference Usagi made note of was how cold and dark everything was, but she interacted with that realm normally and her powers had functioned the same. Based on that, Ami postulated that the laws of physics and quantum mechanics that governed this world very likely applied in the Dark Kingdom as well.

Understanding the nature of the Dark Kingdom was one thing, but gaining entry into the place was the ultimate goal. She had run numerous calculations through her supercomputer analyzing every possible line of reasoning she could formulate. It was clearly some sort of alternate dimension although she found no extant theories that adequately addressed the criteria that she had empirically derived. Thus she had been unable to determine a method of accessing it. She had, however, come up with a foundation from which to work:

Proposition 1: The Dark Kingdom was not dissimilar to the observable Earth in terms of General Relativity.

Proposition 2: Time in the Dark Kingdom and in the physical world ran on the same continuum.

Proposition 2 was established because there seemed to be no difference in the aging of either Usagi or Mamoru during their stays in the Dark Kingdom nor did the generals at any time indicate that they had experienced a length of time any different from the Earth time that had elapsed during the same period.

Based on these assumptions Ami could reasonably eliminate Heisenberg’s Uncertainty Principle, and indeed all of the Many Worlds Interpretations of quantum mechanics, as an explanation that the Dark Kingdom was an alternate existence of the physical world. It did not seem to simply be the chance overlapping of one of any infinite possibilities that history could have become, but rather a continuous progression on the same timeline.

Chaos Theory created the interesting probability that the this realm had been created through the progression of a deterministic system, as distinct from the nondeterministic nature of quantum theory, from seemingly random occurrences that ultimately resulted in the formation of a parallel dimension. If true, then the composition of the Dark Kingdom should be nearly identical to that of the physical world and thus the Sailor Teleport should work. However, she had already analyzed that possibility and established that the enemy’s energy signatures she had collected in the field were not Tau equivalent to the readings that she had gathered of their own powers. Simply put, the methods of transportation that the Generals and youma used were not simply different frequencies of the same energy wavelength.

However, based on the fact that their primary goals had always been the collection of energy from the human world, Amy hypothesized that a strong relationship must exist between the energy of the Dark Kingdom and the natural, life energy the Sailor Senshi used. As yet she had not been able to analyze that possibility but it was on her to do list. Staring at her computer, Ami blinked her dry eyes and began running more numbers praying that an answer would present itself.

Man, it's been a while since I worked on this story. I hope you enjoyed it, writing yuri was different for me so let me know how it worked out. The tone was way different too because this was a consenusal, loving relationship. Another first... kinda fucked up if you think about it, lol. And lastly, my degrees (okay so graduation is in May, but I passed comps bitches! I'm claiming my masters degree now!) are in communication so if anyone out there is a particle physics major, be gentle! That was pure wikipedia, baby! As always, I value the feedback I get from you guys, so please keep it coming. Rate/review and email me at PorkChopExpress86@gmail.com
