Asuka Confesses
"Rei" Asuka yelled staring at the blue haired pilot.
"What?" Rei replied quietly.
"I hope you're happy…you've caused Shinji nothing but problems since he started taking care of you." Asuka exclaimed anger, worry as well as love flashed in her blue eyes though not for Shinji but for Rei. ©I hope she doesn't read my eyes© Asuka thought.
"Gomen Nasai, I didn't know you cared about Shinji so much." Rei said while feeling a strange sensation wash over her 'warm and fuzzy' she thought.
"Well I do Wonder Girl so back off. You think you are better for Shinji just because you are perfect for piloting the EVA's, but your not…" 'You are perfect for me though ' Asuka thought.
"Alright I will back off then, Arigatou." Rei said just as quietly as before. She wondered what this feeling was that she kept having 'It only seems to happen when the Pilot of Unit 02 is around. Do I care for her or is it her emotions?' "Are you done talking yet?" Rei asked Asuka.
"I guess so." Replied Asuka who felt a sudden urge to grab Rei and kiss her senseless. 'I wish I could tell her what I feel' "Please love me." Asuka whispered as she left not realizing that Rei and heard her.
'Please love me? Who was she referring to when she said that I wonder' Rei thought to herself while still puzzling over her strange emotions.
"Why do I have to hid from her how I really feel." Asuka muttered to herself as she left NERV headquarters. "Maybe I should just tell her before something bad happens."
Asuka walked up to Rei's apartment door slowly 'I hope she's home. I'm going to be very pissed off if she's not and besides when will I get up the courage to do this again' Asuka thought as she touched the intercom button.
"Rei?" Asuka said. "Are you home?"
"Hai" Rei replied
"Would it be alright if I came in I need to talk to you…" said Asuka hoping beyond hope that Rei would say yes.
"That would be acceptable." Rei replied.
'Good, now all you have to do is tell her' Asuka thought resisting the urge to jump up and down. Rei opened the door to let Asuka in 'Is she here to talk about what she said earlier?' Rei thought to herself.
"I wanted to apologize about earlier…for yelling at you.” Asuka said to Rei while sitting down.
“Apology accepted.” Rei said quietly.
“I also have something to tell you…” Asuka said steeling herself for what was to come. “Remember how I said I cared for Shinji?” Asuka asked Rei
“Hai” Rei replied.
“Well I don’t care for him as much as I let on…I think…no I know that I Love You, Rei.” Asuka said, a tear slipping down her cheek.
“Namida Muyo” Rei whispered while gently hugging Asuka and kissing her cheek softly where the tear had fallen.
Rei looked into Asuka’s eyes and whispered “Aijou youro kudasai itsumademo.”
Asuka looked back at Rei and said “Hai” and gently kissed Rei on the lips.
After the kiss, Asuka asked, “So does this mean we are a couple now?”
“Hai” was all Rei could say before kissing Asuka again.
Translation:
