Lost in Translation

He knew it was wrong. It was all wrong. All of it. Always. Wrong, wrong, wrong. He'd been taught it was wrong.

But what if wrong felt right? Or worse, what if wrong came in the form of a young man named Raito? Light. Right. Who could tell? It didn't matter which name you used, what spelling. It was just... tempting.

Unbearably tempting. He couldn't hold back anymore.

"Which one is it?!" Matsuda screamed, hands digging into his short hair, pulling. His hands came free with nearly a dozen strands scattered between fingers.

"Light," replied the same, and smirked. "Right? Raito."

Matsuda's scream echoed upwards, bouncing off of the walls until he was pacified with a frying pan.

"Do you really have to do that?" L's voice was dry, bored almost.

Light shrugged.

L sighed.

Matsuda twitched.

A/N: Just a little... self-reflection about the vehemence of fans in relation to L's name, and a little writing exercise in the hopes that I might find myself with a fresh plot bunny. Obviously, since Matsuda met the business end of a skillet, it didn't work out very well. XD Posted for your amusement and posterity's sake.
