Imaginary
Title: My Last Breath
Character: Usagi
A.N.: I don’t own the song and the characters, first and foremost. I’m just borrowing them. Second off all, thank you for reading this. This story was written quite a few years ago when I was feeling sad and was re-watching the Sailor Moon anime and working on Saiyuki slowly. I’m rather proud of this story considering I wrote it all in first person, but I’ve since re-wrote it into what you see here. Please, enjoy.

Remember: Suicide is not the way to go!

“Why?”

“You’re an idiot!”

“You’re an idiot!”

“You don’t deserve to be queen!”

“Klutz…”

“Slut…”

“Idiot…”

To my parents,

Since you are reading this, it is time to do what we have discussed for so long. It is time to take the doppelganger that I have created and act like I’ve committed suicide. I have set up the bed room like I wanted to and all you have to do is cry, call the police, hand out the various letters and plan a funeral.

I’m sure you’re wondering why I am doing this. Frankly, I’m tired of this charade. I have to leave and be myself again. I can not continue to play the klutz, an uncoordinated fighter, the idiot.

I have to stop.

It’s time.

As you have known from the very beginning, the girls and I have been fighting as the Sailor Scouts and it’s been hard to watch them struggle to fight as I try to figure out who are my friends and who are not and not be able to do anything about it.

I have to tell you, dieing is a bitch. Pure and simple. I hate the fact that I had to die for people who consider me an idiot.

Once upon a lifetime, I was naďve. I thought my life was the best thing since sliced bread. I had everything. The perfect mother, a wonderful father, who was training the troops of the moon, fabulous friends and a loving boyfriend. Of course the whole Beryl coming around and destroying the kingdom kinda destroyed that illusion.

Luckily enough for me, Queen Serenity, my moon mother, had set it up so that when I turned 13 the block on my memories dissolved. After that, I had to then decide what I would do when Luna finally came around, I would start my act. And I would have kept that act up ever since. Only you three, Cho-kun and Chibi-Usa know about this.

I have a feeling she is still my daughter, but her father is another.

Now to finish this letter, so you can do what you need to do. I have left letters for everyone.

Trista, Mamoru and Makoto are now just allies, and have been stripped of their powers. Trista is no longer the guardian of time, while all three are nothing more than warriors for the Silver Alliance. Others have been chosen for the thrones of Pluto, Jupiter and earth.

Minako, for the time being is an ally. She will be able to rule Venus, but with advisors who will be under my command. When the time comes, and the truth comes out, she will be shown just how much of a fool she was and will strive to do what ever she needs to do to gain our forgiveness.

Rei, Ami, Hotaru, Haruka, and Michiru are very dear to me. I know that they will continue to be loyal no matter what. I want you to stand by them for me, show them the trust and love you have showed me all my life.

Yes, I know, Rei is one of the traitors. Actually, she’s not. She was trying to push me to do better, but went about it a bit harshly. I forgive her because she really doesn’t know any better. Her parents aren’t there for her.

Well, I should say that her father isn’t there, seeing as her mother is unfortunately dead. So treat her well and show her what family is all about.

Now, about my plans for now and the future. I hope to travel with Cho and all them, helping them in their journey. I hope to gain the confidence I need in myself to be able to rule Crystal Tokyo, and the knowledge to do it well. I will write often, but will only sign my name as Selen.

Now, though, I need you to believe and trust in me.

Stop reading.

Get on the phone.

Call the police and my friends and plan my funeral.

I love all three of you with all my heart.

Your loving daughter,

Usagi Selen Tsukino

Ikuko placed the letter face down upon the coffee table just as the bell rang through the house. She got up and answered it with tears in her eyes.

“She’s upstairs. Can you take her to the Moon Mortuary?” she asked the paramedics and police standing there.

“I have to get Usagis phone book and call the girls,” Kenji said as he got up to go to Usagis room before them. Walking up the stairs, he walked into a room with pink walls and light blue trim. A desk, a dresser and bed make up the set up of the room.

The only thing out of place was the splash of red upon the bed sheet, the floor and the white dress worn by the girl. Her hands faced up, showing the weeping wounds going length wise along her veins. A smile sat upon her lips as she lied there. Her hair was spread around her, and a black cat with a crescent moon on its head laid upon the spun silver, crying softly.

Kenji picked up the weeping cat, smoothing the fur down, then smoothed the girls hair back down before he picked up a little black book off of the desk. The end of a song plays softly behind him as he walks down the stairs.

“Say goodnight. Don’t be afraid. Calling me, calling me, as you fade to black…” he sings softly as he walked down the stairs to call Usagis friends and tell them she was gone.
